London / New York?

I've seen this kinds of designs a lot, but I like the idea so much I wanted to do my version of it. And I like it on my nails! ^^ This time I remembered to take pictures while making the design, so here's a little step-by-step tutorial for these flag-nails:

First I polished every other nail with white polish and every other with blue polish. Pictures and names of the polishes are in the end of this mini-tutorial. :)
Then I polished the tips of the white nails with the same blue I used to the whole blue nails...
I thought that it'd be better to create white base for the red first, so the red would come out brighter.
While waiting for the white crosses to dry, I did the red stripes of the USA flag.
Then the red for the England flag...
...and finally little stars for the USA flag. I  used a pin as a tiny dotting tool to make the stars small enough.
Here are the products I used: blue Claire's polish, Rimmel - London Clouds, white nail art polish by Kiss and red nail art polish by Winmax.
With top coat, in sunlight!
What do you think? Do you like this kinds of designs? I've always tought that "flag nails" look cool, I don't know what it is that fascinates me about them, maybe it's the colors. Or the fact that I've always wanted to go to New York or London... ;)
I'm really glad I made the stars properly, at first I was planning to be lazy and do just white dots or something, but then I decided spots don't look nearly as good as tiny stars! ^^ The stars were harder to do, but definitey worth it!
I'm also happy that finally my right hand nails look as good as left hand! Of course the nails are still shorter, but I even made the tiny stars properly! Usually my right hand doesn't look as good as left, because my left hand is very shaky when it comes to nail polishing... :'D I've been trying to work on that, and finally it's starting to look better. Unfortunately I don't have picture of them, but I hope you believe me! xD
Now some information about what's coming up: Swatches! I know it's a little boring, but I'll show you couple of my new polishes in action. ;) (the pink Sinful colors polish and couple of OPI polishes) Don't worry, my head is full of new nail designs I want to create, it's just that I'm a little slow. :'D Stay tuned! ^^
Check out Beyonce's nails at the diner! ;)

Tulossa: Swatcheja uusista lakkahankinnoista! On minulla kiinnostavampiakin ideoita, pää tuntuu olevan kerrankin täynnä uusia kynsi-ideoita joita haluaisin kokeilla, mutta aika ei tunnu riittävän... :'D No, seurailkaa, toteuttelen niitä parhaani mukaan! ^^

Glittery lace nails and other stuff

This manicure was pretty hard to photograph... The baby blue lace pattern didn't really show up in pics, but you can tell that it's there, right? :'D

The first picture is taken today. It's now over two weeks since I took the henna tattoos, and as you can see, it's almost faded away. :< It lasted quite long, though! In my feet he tattoo hasn't faded that much. Couple days ago it was still like new... :D Well, here are my nails about week ago:

There the tattoo is about 1 week old, and it starts to fade from the finger tips.
I used two coats of H&M Pink Mist first, then I did white gradient to the tips by sponging Rimmel - London Clouds. Then I stamped the baby blue lace pattern with konads, I used the plate m71. Finally I polished three coats of OPI - Last Friday Night to the tips (over the white polish).

Here's the whole henna tattoo after a week.
I didn't like these nails that much at first, because they're not exactly what I had planned, but now I've had this design on my nails for a week and I have to say that I really like it! :D It was also nice to have something blue on my nails, because yesterday...

FINLAND WON THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF ICE HOCKEY!

...and that was the first time since 1995, when we won last time. 16 years ago... :P That was very sweet, because Sweden had won so many times and they were confident that they would win this year too, but we kicked their ass 1-6! xD I'm not a big fan of ice hockey, but hey, it's the world championship we're talking about. ;)
Besides, it's nice to win something after our Eurovision fail... xD Haha, everyone in Finland seemed to be so sure that we would win, but actually we were almost last! Well, I didn't really think the song would be good enough to actually win the whole thing, but... 21st? Fail! :'D Here's the top three:

1. Azerbaijan - Running scared

2. Italy - Follia D'Amore (Madness of love)

3. Sweden - Popular

What do you think? If you watched the Eurovisions, do think that the right songs made it to the top? I think the winner song was pretty good, although it was a little when you heard it many times. I didn't have any huge favorites, but I liked the England's song and Ireland was funny. ^^

Alle laitoin kaksi kerrosta H&Mn Pink Mistiä, ja töpöttelin kärkiin Rimmelin London Cloudsia. Sitten leimasin konadeilla (laatta m71) vaaleansiniset pitsikuviot kynsien tyveen. Kärkiin laitoin vielä kolme kerrosta OPIn Last Friday Nightia.
Oliko lemppareita? ;)

 Love the song! <3

Pink Splash

I promised you some new nails today, so here we go! I did something bit more complicated this time, because my nails have been quite simple lately...

This pic is taken in direct sunshine, I love the holographic polishes... *_*
Things I used! :)
I like them. :) The Golden Rose holographic polishes are very beautiful, and though the holographic effect isn't very special, I was surprised by the quality of them! The polishes dried quite fast and were super glossy even without the top coat. They were also easy to put on, and made very sleek surface on my nails. And the polish stayed on very well without chipping, I had these nails for a week, still no cracks! Yey!
So I put 3 coats of holographic polishes first and then made the pink "splashes" with my neon pink Sinful Colors -polish. Then just added the tiny sequins and round rhinestones. I love the rhinestones, I think they're very cute! They look like pink water drops or bubbles or something... I'd love to do some kind of marine-themed manicure with blue-drop-rhinestones! :D
Then I did also my toe nails:

I saw this design in some nail blog, I just can't remember where! But the point is that this is not my own idea.
So I polished my nails with my white Rimmel polish and gefore the polish dried, I did that "lace" using dry-marble -technique. I think they turned out quite well. :)

My toes are quite crappy, I know... :P Winter makes my skin very dry! :(
That's it. :) Btw, I have a picture of my blingy-polish removal -operation...

LOL xD
Removing blingy polishes is painfully hard, but that foil-technique makes it much easier! :)
That's all this time! But I have to share two very random pics with you in the end...

Do I have too much free-time? xD
Then the same in Finnish:

Tämän tyylisiä tiivistyksiä on siis luvassa jatkossakin, toivottavasti tykkäätte! ^^

Light gradient crackle

I finally got new nail design to show you! ;) I was quite frustrated because nothing seemed to work out, first I did simple gradient french manicure by sponging, but I didn't like it. I decided to add some green flower-stickers, but I didn't like that neither. Then I thought that some glitter would make it better, and added a layer of OPI - Dazzle Me. And I still disliked it! I added couple of layers more, but when the whole manicure still looked crappy, I just put a layer of white crackle polish on top of everything. Now I actually like it! :'D

Here you can see the gradient...
And polishes I used:
Rimmel - London Clouds, H&M - Pink Mist, OPI - Dazzle Me and IsaDora white graffiti -polish.

In the end, I think they're pretty. I didn't mean to do anything like that, but well, it worked, eventally. :)

edit: There's a new opinion poll at my blog's sidebar! I'm going to do a "celebration-post" because I have over 100 followers (!), and you get to decide what it's going to be about.  Here's a little extra-information of some of the topics:
My old nail designs: This is going to be about my nail designs from the time before I started blogging. I've done nails for years, so there're lots of designs you haven't seen yet... ;)
All my nail polishes: As it says, all my polishes with swatches.
And I think that the other three don't need any extra-info... ;)

Remember to vote, everyone! ^^

Contest nails

Okay, apparently it is allowed to publish the contest nails before the winner is released... My mistake, I´m sorry you had to wait this long! There were two themes in the competition, Coloursplash and Black on white. I did both of them.
First the Black on white -manicure:

I used my white Rimmel polish, London clouds, as the base and then I put on some lace stickers. The L O V E -letters are made with black rhinestones, I glued them on one by one. There´s a little rose in the middle of O... :) The Sweet Love -text on my thumb is made with black nail art polish, free-hand.
Then the Coloursplash:

I used five different polishes, the green Claire´s -polish, Sinful Colors Fusion neon, H&M Blue My Mind, Models Own Lemon Merinque and OPI atomic orange. Then I added the tiny sequins one by one, and then glued on the colorful rhinestones (also one by one).
So what do you think? :) I put so much time and effort to both of them, I really hope everyone likes them! ^^ These aren´t the same pictures I sent to the competition, I did little collages for that. ;)

Checkered nails (+SNOW!)

For a change, a nail post! ( More tutorials are coming though, I´m not finished yet!) This is actually quite old design, but I had time to post it now.

I think they´re cute ^^
Polishes I used: Rimmel London clouds, Diffi and IsaDora matte top.

I really like how they turned out, but I don´t think that the IsaDora matte top is matte enough, at least my nails were still shiny though I added it. Or does that look matte to you, look at the second picture! :< But can´t help it, I haven´t found other one. I´ll just  have to keep looking.
Anyway, inspiration for these nails is from HERE, my friend Katys blog. She has recently started blogging, and has some very cool nails and fashion related things in her blog. Check it out! :)
I also went to see the newest Harry Potter with Katy and my sister. It was so good!!! I´ve kinda grown up with Harry Potter, I mean the books and movies! So it was a bit nostalgic to see the first part of the last movie... I can´t wait for the second part! OwO
Wednesday was the premiere, and we went to see it then. It was very scary to sit there and save seats for my friends, when the angry and seatless Harry Potter-fans were surrounding me and giving me veeery angry stares... :< That sure was the last time I´ll ever queue alone! :'D
And guess what! It was snowing! It looks so beautiful outside now! *w*

Yes we have christmas lights already... ^^'
Poor Sippe, her foots are so short and there was lots of snow!
Niilo was so funny, she was so thrilled with all that snow!
Jumping around...
She´s looking cunning :3
See you soon! :)
