Not Like The Movies

First I want to say Happy May Day to everyone of you! I know it's not the first of may yet, but in Finland we celebrate today. ;) It's called Vappu in Finland and it's a huge event. People wear funny costumes and party... It's like a carnival. Except for me, I suppose I wont be celebrating much this May Day, because in UAE they don't seem to have it... :'D
Anyway, now to the nails. This is the first swatch of the polishes I bought, Not Like The Movies from Katy Perry collection.

I love that polish! First of all the color looks different depending to the lightning. It can look deep purple, shimmery green, green from the sides and purple in the middle or silver grey... And all the time there are these gorgeus tiny silver sparkles shimmering through. So versatile!
It's quite opaque, though, and I used three coats. But I have to say that I'm extremely surprised about how well it stayed on! We went to waterpark Atlantis (it's in Dubai, Palm Jumeirah) on the next day I polished my nais, and I spent six hours in the water. And guess what? The polish didn't crack at all! My nails were still flawless when we left home. I think it's amazing, because last time we were at Atlantis, my nails suffered badly...
Anyway, gorgeus color and long lasting polish. I like! ^^

I tried to take underwater picture but it failed because of the waves... :'D

Rakastan tätä lakkaa! Väri on upea, ja se vaihtuu sen mukaan missä valaistuksessa sitä katsoo. Se voi olla täysin violetti, kokonaan vihreä tai molempia ja hopeaisen harmaa. Lisäksi siinä on ihanaa hopeista kimallusta.
Upean värin lisäksi lakka on todella kestävä. Laitoin kolme kerrosta, ja menimme vesipuisto Atlantikseen (Dubai, Palm Jumeirah) heti seuraavana päivänä. Olin vedessä kuusi tuntia, eikä lakka edes lohjennut! Kynnet olivat lähtiessä samassa kunnossa kuin tullessa. Minusta se on aika vaikuttavaa, varsinkin kun viimeksi kun olimme samaisessa vesipuistossa, kynteni kärsivät niin paljon että niitä piti lyhentää... :'D

 Isn't it gorgeus? *_* I love the whole Burlesque collection, it's so sparkly... :D I've also seen the movie, and it was great! If you haven't seen it yet, I totally recommend it! ^^

I've been shopping (too much) lately, so that's what's coming up! ;)

Nämä ovat pikkusiskoni kynnet, lisää kuvia löytyy hänen blogistaan! Laitoin yhden kerroksen Wet'n'Wildin lakkaa ja tippeihin konadit. Todella simppeliä, mutta nättiä! ^^
Viime aikoina olen shoppaillut (liikaa), eli tulossa on postaus uusista kynsilakka hankinnoista! ;)

Chocolate bananas

...These look like chocolate dipped bananas, right? :D Inspiration is directly stolen from HERE.

I forgot to take picture of the things I used... First two layers of Models Own Lemon Merinque. Then I made the tips with my "dotting tool", the polish is Essence - Spicy. I used the same polish to the bow, but I made it with the polish´s own brush, u know? I lined the bow with Golden Rose golden nail art polish. Then I added little bling to the tips.
I like them! So sweet. :3 Aah, I love it here in UAE, the sun is shining every day and it's so much easier to take good pictures! Yey! :D

Näistä kynsistä tulee mieleen suklaaseen dipatut banaanit, ainakin minulle! :D Ensin laitoin kaksi kerrosta Models Ownin Lemon Merinqueta, sitten tein kärkiin kuviot "dotting toolilla", lakkana Essencen Spicy. Sitä käytin myös rusettiin, mutta tein sen ihan sillä lakan omalla harjalla (en siis dotting toolilla tai nail art siveltimellä). Rusetin rajat on tehty Golden Rosen kultaisella nail art lakalla. Lopuksi lisäsin kärkiin Seppälästä ostettua glitteriä. :)

Tutorial: How to fix nail-damages with tea bag-paper?

I hit my middle finger straight to the wall while ago and it cracked, so I decided to do a tutorial about how to fix it. First I want to say that this is not any kind of professional way to fix nail damages, this is just something I do because I don't have the nail wraps that are officially used for this type of fixing... I guess they're called silk wraps, but I'm not sure. I use tea bag-paper instead. Yeah. It actually works! It's just takes a while to wait for the glue to dry... Anyway, here's my tutorial, I hope it's helpful!

Ugh, that looks bad... 

 Yup. I have no idea how it got that bad... :P But luckily it's easily fixed! Here's what you'll need: tea bag-paper, tweezers, wooden stick, nail glue, metallic file, glass file and buffer/smoother.

Cut a piece of tea bag that covers the damages.

Next put a drop of nail glue on your nail, on the damaged area.

Smudge the edges of the glue drop with your finger.

Smudging will make the filing easier later and makes the glue dry faster. Next put the piece of tea bag into the glue, on the damages. The tea bag should become transparent. Remember to make sure that all the damages are covered!

Wait for the glue to dry entirely. This may take a lot of time, it depends on glue and how much glue you have on the nail. You have to wait long enough, because next you have to file the nail and it will be difficult if the glue is still sticky... ;)
File the nail so that the surface becomes smooth. Use metallic file. You have to file on top of the tea bag and glue, but be careful that you won't file your the surface of your own nail!

Add another layer of tea bag. The piece doesn't have to be the same shape as the first one, actually it would be good if it was little smaller or bigger.
Put another drop of nail glue on the damaged area and poke the tea bag into glue. You can use wooden stick to make sure that the piece will be entirely covered in glue and that there won't be any air bubbles!

Wait again for the glue to dry entirely and file with the metallic file. Then smooth the nail surface with the buffer and after that buff the nail surface.

Add some more glue (just a little bit) and smudge it quickly on your nail with your finger. I use the glass file to file the edges. If there's any bumps remaining, smooth them out. And we're ready! ^^

Don't forget the lotion...

Some of you might recognize them... She was looking around my old posts and THIS was the design she wanted. :) I made the stripes little thinner this time and simplified it a little bit. It's nice to see that the same design works on both short and long nails! My friend was very happy too. ^^

Tällä kertaa esittelen teille vain kaverini kynnet. Hän halusi samantapaiset kynnet kuin TÄSSÄ postauksessa. Tein tällä kertaa raidoista vähän ohuemmat ja yksinkertaistin designia vähän. Oli kiva huomata, että sama juttu toimii sekä pitkillä että lyhyillä kynsillä! ^^ myös kaverini oli tyytyväinen. :)
Viimeaikoina on ollut paljon kaikenlaista, mutta jatkan kirjoittelua entiseen tahtiin! :)

 Hehe, what do you think? I went little crazy when I saw all those things there... :'D Mic Mac was full of cute stuff, but I managed to control myself and buy just those... :P
But the best is still ahead: I also bought a new nail polish!

The polish was quite hard to photograph, and these pictures just don't do justice for it (even though it looks already gorgeus...)!

Aaagh I'm in heaven! I've been looking for that polish so long, and when I finally saw it at Stockmann, I couldn't resist and bought it... It's Halley's Comet from Orly Cosmic -collection. I love the whole collection, but I had to choose just one, because they were so expensive... >_< I wanted also Space Cadet, but eventually I decided to go with this. And I love it!!! x) My new favourite nail polish... ^^

Of course I had to try it on my way home, but I took it off because I wanted to polish my nails properly. I had a chance to try out my new nail polish remover pads:

I was actually very surprised about how well it actually worked...

Isn't she cute? Although not very helpful, she decided to sit on my shoppings and she also tried to eat my camera. :D

Helsingistä tarttui siis mukaan ylisöpöjä ja ehkä vähän tarpeettomia juttuja... ^^' Olen kuitenkin tyytyväinen! Mic Macista ostin söpön laastaripakkauksen (en osaa päättää kummat ovat söpömpiä, itse pakkaus vai ne laastarit...), kosteuspyyhkeitä söpössä pakkauksessa, kynsilakanpoistolappuja ja huulirasvan. Huulirasva on tosi söpössä purkissa ja tuoksui ihan limulle, en voinut vastustaa... :'D Kokeilin myös heti noita kynsilakanpoistolappuja, ja ne itse asiassa toimivat todella hyvin! Varmasti käteviä ottaa mukaan esim. matkalle. :)
Paras ostokseni oli kuitenkin uusi lempparikynsilakkani! Kyseessä on siis Halley's Comet Orlyn Cosmic-kokoelmasta. Olen etsinyt kokoelmaa vaikka kuinka kauan, ja vähän villiinnyin kun viimeinkin näin sen Stockalla. Olisin halunnut jokaisen lakan kyseisestä kokoelmasta, mutta hinta oli sen verran suolainen että päädyin tähän yhteen. Se on kuitenkin upea! Kuvat eivät tee sille lainkaan oikeutta, vaikka näyttää se kyllä niissäkn hyvältä. 

Niilo auttaa...tai sitten ei. <3
